Some pieces of journalism are so good, true and apposite that they deserve to be distributed as widely as can be by as many interested parties as possible. Peter Ormerod’s column in this morning’s Guardian fits into that category perfectly.
His piece entitled “To defeat Theresa May, the left must first understand Tory voters” cuts to the very heart of why Britain’s Left has struggled not just in this general election, but ever since Tony Blair left Downing Street a decade ago.
Simply, the Left is too busy castigating non-believers, and not enough time empathising.
Let’s hope Britain’s Left finally listens.
