Graphs and tables

The most important thing is to explain what the graph or table shows, and to know why you are including it. You should always give graphs titles, and also refer to them in the text, with a notice telling readers where to look: e.g. “The graph below illustrates how social surplus is broken down between its constituent parts.” You should also make the graph or table look like it belongs to the rest of the document by making sure it uses the same fonts and that it doesn’t spill over into the page border.
