Comprise

Comprise

Comprise means contain: the whole comprises the parts. So “a three-piece suit comprises jacket, trousers and waistcoat” is right, but “jacket, trousers and waistcoat comprise a three-piece suit” and “a three-piece suit is comprised of jacket, trousers and waistcoat” are both wrong.
